Oman Arab Bank Hosts Swiss Ambassador to Celebrate Five Decades of Swiss Contribution in Oman

Oman Arab Bank hosted His Excellency Dr. Thomas Oertle, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Sultanate of Oman, for an official meeting at the Bank’s headquarters in Muscat. The meeting was held in the presence of Mr. Sulaiman Al Harthi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Arab Bank, and formed part of a broader initiative to strengthen institutional ties and deepen bilateral cooperation between Oman’s financial sector and the Swiss business community. Mr Lateef Shahdad, Board Member of OSFA (Oman Switzerland Friendship Association) & General Manager of Mass International, Official Schindler Distributor was also present during this facilitation.

The occasion marked a symbolic recognition of the longstanding relationship between Oman Arab Bank and Swiss companies operating in the Sultanate, highlighting their sustained contribution to Oman’s economic development for nearly 50 years. The meeting reflected a shared appreciation for the role Swiss enterprises have played in supporting the infrastructure and the Omani industry, further highlighting the two nations’ innovation, and long-term economic diversification.

 

Discussions during the meeting focused on areas of mutual interest, including financial cooperation, investment opportunities, and the importance of fostering partnerships that support sustainable growth and knowledge exchange.
