Since it was established in October 1984, the bank has been leading the Corporate Banking, Project Financing and Trade Finance business in Oman. Oman Arab Bank has made a significant contribution to the development of the Sultanate’s economy by financing most of the infrastructure construction and development projects such as cement plants, highways, airports, harbors, power stations, water desalination plants, hospitals and oil & gas projects.

Oman Arab Bank has been actively developing its capabilities in project financing. This has been demonstrated in its leading role in the first BOOT project in Oman, the Manah Power project, as well as our role as financial advisors in several other projects in Oman.

Since 1995, we have participated in the financing of all the major projects in Oman such as Sohar Refinery, Sohar Methanol, Oman Polypropylene Project, Aromatics Oman, Oman – India Fertilizer Project and Sohar Aluminum Project as well as the major power and water projects.

Oman Arab Bank was also selected as the banker to most of the major contractors for the above projects (Foster Wheeler – Cheyoda, Kobe, GS (Korea), Mitsubishi, Alstom, Bachtel, Doosan, etc.
